Nature is Right There: Why Not Enjoy It?

Collaborative post:

So many of us spend so much time in cities or suburban areas that we forget that nature exists. But there’s a lot more nature than concrete, even in the UK, a place that we generally view as one big concrete slab. In fact, only 10% of the UK is considered ‘built up’ — that’s all the roads, buildings, homes, everything. The takeaway point? That there’s a whole load of nature around! So why not enjoy it?

There are a whole host of benefits to spending time in nature, including improved mental and physical wellbeing. Plus, it makes it easier to make the transition to more environmentally-friendly practices. Anyone who spends time in nature will want to protect it!

In this blog, we’ll look at just a few tips for spending more time in the great outdoors.

Get Out The Map

Most people are familiar with what’s in their immediate surroundings. But they’re not so familiar with what’s a little bit further. No matter where you live, you’ll find that there’s a beautiful outdoor environment just waiting to be explored. A good tip is to get out the map (a real map! Though Google Maps will do) and see if you can spot anything of interest. If you see a lake on the map, then that’s a pretty good indicator that there’s something worth exploring.

A Trusty Vehicle and Camping Gear

There’s no avoiding the fact that you’ll need a vehicle to explore the outdoors. And not just any vehicle; it’s gotta be one that can handle the often murky and challenging conditions that you find when you’re exploring rural areas. To ensure you have a set of wheels that won’t let you down, take a trip to a Ineos Grenadier dealership — there, you’ll find vehicles that were designed to handle the rugged conditions of the great outdoors. You’ll be able to plan a trip anywhere within the UK, knowing that you have a car that won’t let you down.

You may also invest in broader outdoor gear, such as camping supplies. There’s a lot of freedom in knowing that you can take a trip and spend the night under the stars.

Find a Hobby

Finally, consider picking up a hobby that takes you outdoors. If you take up hiking, for instance, then you’ll have something that’ll have you wandering the lovely English countryside all the time. Other options include biking, watersports, and birdwatching. If you’re not sure how to get started with these activities, look at joining a local group — this will show the basics, and help you make like-minded friends who enjoy the outdoors.

Conclusion

And there we have it! As we said at the beginning, there’s a lot of value in spending time in nature. And once you’ve taken all the tips that we’ve outlined above on board, you’ll find that it’s easier than ever. And the best part? There’s a lot of nature to explore in the world, so this could very much set you on an awesome long-term journey.
