When you are passionate about something, such as collecting antique silver, you will want to have it on display so that you can always enjoy your collection. There are many ways that you can display your silver antiques, depending on what type of items they are, and how much space you have available. If silver antiques are a big part of your life, below are some tips to help you display them appropriately in your home that will show off your passion in a tasteful way.

Silver On The Mantle

If you have a mantlepiece in your home, you can use this to display some of the antique silver items that you have collected over the years. If you happen to have a pair of silver candlesticks, you can have these on your mantle which can also be handy if your power goes off as you always know where the candles are. Popular antique silver sets include silver photo frames, and these can also be displayed on your mantle with pictures of your family or loved ones. You can also have silver ornaments placed tastefully around your fireplace and mantle, making sure not to put anything directly in front of the fire.

A Cabinet Full Of Silver

If you have cabinets in your home with glass doors, you can also use these to display your silver antiques, and there is a wide variety of vintage silverware for sale online that you can have in your cabinet. You can place your silver tea set, coffee pot, or serving dishes on display in your wooden cabinet and take them out to use when needed. Your display cabinet is another place that you can also display miscellaneous silver decor, and a significant benefit with them being in a cabinet is that they will require less dusting than if placed on your mantle or by your fire.

A Dressing Table Adorned With Silver

You can also display some of your silver items on your dressing table, which is the perfect location for an antique vanity mirror. You can also add a silver hairbrush and other personal grooming items and display these in your room. The beauty of this is that you can display beautiful antique silver items that still have a practical use, ensuring that you get the most out of your purchases. As well as grooming items, you can also add an antique silver photo frame to the dressing table and enjoy pictures of the people that you love while showing off your favourite collectables.

If you have a large old house with a big kitchen, there is a chance you may have a sideboard, which is also an excellent place for you to display some of your silver antiques. You can have silver serving sets on display, silver coasters, silver jugs, or even silver plates. If you look hard enough there is somewhere in your home that is suitable to display your silver antiques, so you can enjoy them in your home and share them with those who come to visit.

That kitchen is beautiful! I agree with displaying what you love and I agree with using what you love too and not keeping things for best! x

I feel as though keeping silver is a generation thing and not something many of us do now xx

I am much more of a minimalist when it comes to my home decor. I have only certain things on show but nothing super grand!

I don’t have any silverwear at the moment but I have been thinking of getting some from an antique shop. I’d love to display them on my kitchen shelves with some old cookbooks.

I much prefer things like this on a dressing table or sideboard rather than a display cabinet, I think that’s a generational thing x
