Anubis

Anubis

Over the last month - six weeks I have been using a brand I had never heard of before, Anubis. I have been using their cleansing cream, purifying lotion and serum.
Regul oil cleansing cream (£30.50)
Lotion purificant (toner) (£26)
Serum hydro-equilibrant (£37.50)

The cleansing cream was easy to use and after applying it with my fingers I washed it off with a muslin cloth. I used it in the evening, I always remove my eye make up with make up remover and then I use a cleanser for my face. It left me feeling very clean.

After using the cleanser I would use the toner to make sure my face was extra clean. It is handy in a spray bottle and was easy to spray on to cotton pads and wipe over my face. Its surprising how refreshing these feels!

The serum helps to balance out your skin, it is specifically aimed for acne prone skin ( I was hoping to have grown out of it by now!). It helps to regulate sebum production and I used this last thing at night.

This range has helped my skin, I find I am not getting such a greasy t zone throughout the day and also I am not getting so many break outs. It is always worth spending the money on good skincare products.

The perfect set of brushes

I wanted to take pictures before I started using them and they became dirty! This set is beautiful and comes in such a cute box! You can buy them here for only £34.99 and it contains literally every brush you need!

The set includes:

1 Large Face Brush (Superior Quality Goat's Hair)
1 Medium Face Brush (Superior Quality Goat's Hair)
1 Angled Blush Brush (Luxury Synthetic)
1 Large Foundation Brush (Luxury Synthetic)
1 Detail Concealer Brush (Luxury Synthetic)
1 Foam Eye Shadow Brush
1 Angled Eye Shadow Brush (Luxury Synthetic)
1 Eye Liner Brush (Luxury Synthetic)
1 Eye Brow Brush/Eye Lash Comb
1 White Leather Croc Print Cylinder

Each brush feels so soft and they are really easy to hold too. In the past I have spent up to £15 on just one brush but you really don't need to spend that kind of money to get a good quality product.

My favourite in this set was the medium face brush as I used this to apply my mineral powder foundation and it was so quick and easy to use :)

The only bush I haven't tried is the eyeliner one as I only really use pencil but other than that, the whole set is good quality and easy to use. This would be an ideal set for anyone just getting into make up or someone that doesn't have many brushes and wanted to experiment a bit more!

Trying a new moisturiser

Dermalogica is one of my favourite skincare brands and they never fail to disappoint when it comes to new releases.

This clear start hydrating lotion helps to not just moisturise your skin but helps any outbreaks. I suffer with bad skin so I am always trying new products to keep those pesky spots at bay.

I also suffer really bad dry patches on my face (even though it is oily) so I am always trying new things to help with this. I have been using clear start once a day for the last few weeks and it has really helped with my dry patches and I think it has helped my outbreaks too!

Keeping my jewellery clean..

I never used to wear much jewellery but since getting engaged and married I always wear my rings. I came across www.connoisseurs.com when i was searching for jewellery cleaner and decided to try some of their products.

This is the back of my rings before I cleaned then. The top is my engagement ring which I have had a lot longer than my wedding ring. They are both white gold but you can see the top one is very dirty and tarnished.

Look how much dirt came off when using one of the wipes, so gross!

But you can see how much cleaner they both look, especially the top one!

I also used the dazzle stick on the diamonds. You just wet the brush and twist it up then you can clean your jewellery and then simple rinse after.

I am really pleased how sparkly and clean my rings now are :)

Loving my new purse

My new favourite purse is from John Lewis at Kingston. I had a Pauls Boutique bag a few years ago but hadnt purchased anything from them since. They have great designs and colours so very hard to think I nearly forget about them!

The purse is a great size and features a grey snakeskin effect one side and a bright pink/orange snake effect on the other.

The purse is £40 which I think is a good price for something decent like this. It is the perfect size to fit in everything (I have so many loyalty cards and things and always have to have a big purse!)

You can see above how many sections it has :)

Trying some new popcorn flavours

I have always been a big fan of popcorn, so decided it was time to try some new flavours. Tommy Tucker have a massive range from cheddar cheese to summer fruits and also your usual toffee and sweet and salty.

The first up is luxury toffee, I expected it to taste like butterkist but it had a lot more flavour and I found the popcorn itself was quite large pieces. It didn't take me long to eat the whole bag!

I then tried the sweet and salt which was a sharing bag (I hate sharing haha). I had never tried this flavour before as I usually stick to toffee so this was a pleasant change. The bag was massive so took me several days to get through! I can imagine this being one of the most popular flavours (I think this is usually the flavour cinemas offer?!)

And lastly the coconut toffee. I have only ever tried a handful of coconut flavour popcorn before so it was nice to be able to try it properly. It had the perfect combination of coconut and toffee and the flavour wasn't too overpowering.

All of the popcorn was very fluffy and you know you often buy popcorn and there is a lot left over at the end where it hasn't popped or like small crunchy bits, there was nothing like that, it was all just perfect :)

Popcorn is a great snack, whether you are watching a film or simply want something to snack on whilst at work, its something I have always loved and never get bored of!

Could you survive only using 40 litres of water a day?

The Body Shop have teamed up with WaterAid this Christmas and for every selected gift purchased it will provide a whole family in Ethiopia with safe water for a day.

Their goal is to provide 1000 families with safe water over the next ten years.

Can you imagine not have safe water to drink or wash with? How hard it must be?

We take water for granted, if you think during the course of a normal day what you use it for: drinking, a bath or shower, brushing your teeth, washing up or using a dishwasher, doing your washing, we rely on water.

I challenge you to see if you could survive only using 40L of water a day, that's two jerry cans. I am going to try this for a day next week to see how I get on myself, I would love to know if any of you give it a go!

The average person in the UK uses 150L a day! A bath can use up to 80L, but imagine if you didn't have such a luxury, would you be able to cope?

NuSkin

I was extremely lucky to receive a box full of some great Nuskin products to try. I don't like trying too many different things at once, especially skincare type products so I am just showing you the ones I have tried so far.

I have never tried bronzing pearls before, I usually use a sold compact so this was quite fun to try! They were easy to use, you simply get your brush and swirl it over the pearls. They gave my face a very healthy glow and are now part of my everyday make up routine.

I do love trying new hair products, especially conditioners and masks as my hair is very dry and damaged as I dye it so often. After I used up my last mask I opened this one to give it a go. It is a decent sized pot and smelt really good. I used it in between my shampoo and conditioner and left it on for about 10mins. It left my hair feeling a lot more manageable and it felt softer :)

The last things I tried were the cleanser and toner, they left my face feeling clean and soft and made a pleasant change from my usual routine!
